Ooooh Myyyyy'!
4th Of July Is Officially My Favorite American Holiday

I'm gonna start out by saying I LOVE MEAT, and I LOVE BBQ'ing - And do you guys know what 4th of July is all about? Sure it's about celebrating the declaration of Independent, BUT omgosh, they know how to celebrate!! RIBS, FIREWORK, BEER, FAMILY, CAMPFIRE.. And so on...
I celebrated 4th of July with my boyfriend Joe and his lovely family, The Carpenters. They annually celebrate 4th Of July at Joe's Dad's childhood home, which is placed in a small town Called Dickey, ND. It's probably one of the smallest towns I've ever seen, with really old houses. We had to stay at a Shop because there wasn't any room for us in the house. And let me just say; there were no bathroom, no bedroom no nothing, ecept for equipments which of course would be normal to have in a Shop.. So that was the last time we slept there - We got a nice bedroom in Joe's dad's childhood home the next day.
The way The Carpenters celebrate the 4th of July is by throwing a huge BBQ ribs competition, where they make their ribs from scratch and smoke them in their smokers all day. the winner goes home with a huge trophy and obviously a huge honor of winning the annual BBQ competition. Joe's dad obviously join the competition which he does every year, and we cheer on him, but there was not cheating, since we had no clue which ribs were his, since they were taken into the kitchen and got a number.
I don't remember the exact number of different ribs that was made, but it was around 10 kinds. I ate them all (No surprise there), and oh god, IT.WAS.DELICIOUS! I had such a hard time choosing my favorite, and to be honest I don't remember which one I picked out...
Now, at the end of the day, when everyone was done eating their ribs it was time to crown the winner. It was super exiting to see who would win. I personally wanted Joe's dad to win, since he's an amazing cook, and I've tried his food several times and been blown away.
They finished coating the scores, and they crown the 3rd place, which went to one of joes uncles.. then the 2nd place was crowned, and that went to one of Joe's cousins, it was now time for the 1st place and the winner of this years BBQ competition. And the winner is CHAD!! JOES DAD!!!! It was awesome!! Such a great day, and it made it way better that Joe's dad won.
The day ended and it was about to turn dark, which means it was time for FIREWORK. It was so beautiful. We were in the middle of nowhere, so the firework was 100x prettier than I've ever seen it, and they had so much, so they kept firing them up for almost 45min.
I thank you, Joe, for this amazing experience.
